I am your nurse/midwife
“When your parents decided to have you – I became involved.
I monitored you in your mother’s womb and gave your mother critical education so that you could be delivered healthy.
I am most likely the first face you saw when I delivered you – and I am the one who prompted you to take your first breath.
I then monitor you through childhood to adulthood – making sure you were healthy and immunised.
When you became sick as an adult – I was the one who stayed with you in hospitals especially overnight – when everyone had gone home to sleep.
I was there to listen to your fears and frustrations and restored your dignity when you could not help yourself and gave you hope.
When the medicine failed you and everyone has said they could not helped anymore – I took over and stayed with you and made sure your transition out of this world was not lonely or painful – but dignified.
I am probably the first face you saw when I delivered you and I am probably the last face you will see when you transition out of this world.
I am your nurse/midwife.”
