Hospital Training Initiative
The Hospital Training Program (HTP) is a world class training program for nurses in service which is delivered hybrid style (Online self-paced material plus virtual classes and in person skills certification workshop via an OSCE format). The HTP is delivered via the GUILD Learning Centre. The HTP empowers hospitals or organizations to transform service delivery by empowering nurses to upgrade skills and match modern demands in areas such as health informatics, infection prevention and control, research, fire safety and awareness, problem solving, target setting, data analysis, resuscitation and nursing leadership and management
The HTP is anchored on four steps :
- Assessment of employee training needs (establishing skills gap)
- Customizing and co-creating the training program
- Delivering the program
- Evaluation
The Hospital training program uses the established micro-credentialing and fellowship courses. If you are interested in having your hospital trained or in sponsoring a hospital for training, contact admin@vakahealthfoundation.org
COMMUNITY HEALTH SCREENING PROGRAM
The broad objective of the community health screening program is to provide an opportunity for nurses from district hospitals to lead preventive health programs by screening for chronic illnesses thereby mitigating both morbidity and mortality. This program will be implemented through a partnership between Vaka Health Foundation and other stakeholders such as ECSACON and Ministry of Health. Resources like blood pressure and blood sugar testing machines will be mobilized by stakeholders as well as any other training for health promotion that may be required. The screening programs will happen at community (village) level and in such areas like mines or farming areas to improve and enable access for all. The programs will be consisted of health education and awareness talks and the actual testing (screening) with interpretation of results on site including commencement of treatments where necessary.
